The Bridgeport Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Jefferson County Christian Royals at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Connor Nelson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.

In other batting news, Jefferson County Christian got a massive performance out of Aiden Howard, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave Howard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Hervey, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Jefferson County Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Jefferson County Christian's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Bridgeport, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bridgeport has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Jefferson County Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.3 strikeouts.
