Baseball Recap: New Dorp Starts Season with Win on the Road

New Dorp had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the St. Peter's Eagles 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Central Cougars as it put an end to their 13-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Peter's fell to 3-1.

Looking ahead, New Dorp will head out on the road to square off against Wagner at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Peter's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West 50th Street at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. St. Peter's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so West 50th Street's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
