Preview: North Bergen Bruins vs. Bloomfield Bengals
The North Bergen Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the Bloomfield Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (North Bergen is ranked 260th, while Bloomfield is ranked 254th).
Last Friday, North Bergen came up short against Bayonne and fell 37-26. North Bergen has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put the hurt on Belleville with a sharp 29-8 win. Bloomfield didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Trevor Frantantoni looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 39 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 133 yards and a touchdown. Jonathan Nichol also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
North Bergen has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Bloomfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.
North Bergen strolled past Bloomfield in their previous matchup back in September of 2021 by a score of 28-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Bergen since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
