Soccer Recap: Tanque Verde Comes Up Short

Tanque Verde fought the good fight in their overtime match against Thatcher on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Thatcher Eagles by a score of 2-1. The Hawks have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Tanque Verde's goal came courtesy of Amelia Kidd, who's now up to 18 this season.

Tanque Verde's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-5. As for Thatcher, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Tanque Verde wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, an 8-0 victory against Palo Verde on the 17th. Thatcher has also already played their next contest (against Catalina), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
