Baseball Recap: String Theory Wins Going Away Against Olney

String Theory made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Olney, but they still couldn't quite topple them. String Theory put the hurt on Olney with a sharp 17-7 win on Thursday. That looming 17-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for String Theory yet this season.

Aiden Jones was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Martin Long was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Justin Squillace Jr. was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

String Theory was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for String Theory and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Olney, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, String Theory will square off against Thomas A. Edison at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Olney, they will challenge Philadelphia Performing Arts at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday.
