Homedale is a perfect 10-0 against Parma since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Trojans will host the Panthers at 3:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Homedale has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Parma will arrive with seven straight victories.
Homedale came up short against Weiser on Wednesday, falling 13-1. The match marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Hadlee Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Parma faced Nampa Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Panthers skirted past the Trojans 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since March 19th.
Wesli Crockett made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Crockett was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoey Heffelfinger, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
Parma pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Homedale, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Homedale has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like Parma struggles in that department as they've averaged .498. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
