Basketball Recap: Grand Lake Comes Up Short

If Grand Lake was feeling good fresh off their 53-16 takedown of Basile last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grand Lake Hornets were outmatched by the Hamilton Christian Warriors and fell 65-35. The Hornets have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Leading Hamilton Christian to victory were Javon Vital and Christopher Rideau Jr. Vital went 8-for-17 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards, while Rideau Jr went 9-for-19 to rack up 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Vital a new career-high in steals (six). Seth Ned was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Grand Lake's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Hamilton Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Grand Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-49 defeat against Lake Arthur on the 3rd. As for Hamilton Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 52-32 loss against Washington-Marion on the 3rd.
