            Football Recap: St. Francis Golden Knights vs. Paraclete Spirits        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Bishop Alemany  last Friday, St. Francis came back down to earth. The Golden Knights took  a  42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Paraclete Spirits on Friday. The Golden Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spirits apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in October of 2024.
 St. Francis' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Alister Chan, who threw for 152 yards and three  TDs, and also punched in a pair of  touchdowns on the ground.  Mason Maddox was in the mix  as well, providing the Golden Knights with three scores.
 Leading Paraclete to victory were  Joseph Mesa and  Kyle Fulton Jr.  Mesa threw for 290 yards and five  touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt, while  Fulton Jr rushed for 196 yards and one  TD while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. The Spirits are undefeated when  Fulton Jr posts 80 or  more  rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.
St. Francis' defeat was  their fifth straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Paraclete, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. St. Francis will  face off against  rival Cathedral  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Paraclete is set to  challenge  their familiar foe St. Paul  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
