Volleyball Recap: Onaga Gets the Win

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Onaga and Blue Valley, and Onaga kept the tradition alive. The Buffaloes had just enough and edged out the Rams 2-1 on Saturday. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-1 win last Saturday.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Onaga got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 22-25, 29-27.

Lauryn Marten paced Onaga's offense, picking up 11 kills. Marten got some help from Abbie Ringel and her 25 assists. Ringel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Onaga's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Blue Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-22 record this season.

Onaga didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Hanover on the 14th. Blue Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
