Baseball Recap: Midd-West Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lewisburg last Wednesday, Midd-West came back down to earth. The Mustangs came up short against the Montoursville Warriors on Monday, falling 9-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Braxton Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Midd-West's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Montoursville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Midd-West will venture away from home to take on Milton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs are facing the Black Panthers at the right time seeing as the Black Panthers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Montoursville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The RED TORNADOES will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
