Volleyball Recap: Sunshine Bible Academy Comes Up Short

Sunshine Bible Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots, falling 3-0. The Crusaders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-14, 25-8.

Ciera Mickelson paced Sunshine Bible Academy's offense, picking up four kills. Mickelson got some help from Breanna Thieman and her four assists. Soleil Mickelson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hitchcock-Tulare to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cambree Hoekman, who had nine digs and two assists. Another player making a difference was Olivia Knox, who had four aces and three digs.

Sunshine Bible Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Hitchcock-Tulare, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sunshine Bible Academy will welcome Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Tuesday. As for Hitchcock-Tulare, they will be playing at home against Warner at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Patriots' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
