Soccer Game Preview: Fryeburg vs. Gray-New Gloucester

The Fryeburg Raiders will challenge the Gray-New Gloucester Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fryeburg's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Fryeburg fell victim to Traip and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Rangers, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Gray-New Gloucester managed to keep up with Greely until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Patriots lost 4-0 to the Rangers. Gray-New Gloucester have struggled against Greely recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Fryeburg's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Gray-New Gloucester, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8-2.

Fryeburg was able to grind out a solid win over Gray-New Gloucester in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 4-2. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
