Preview: DCP Alum Rock Lobos vs. More Knights
DCP Alum Rock has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the More Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. DCP Alum Rock has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
DCP Alum Rock scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Luis Valdez Leadership Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-26 victory at home. The result was nothing new for DCP Alum Rock, who have now won three games by 38 points or more so far this season.
Isidro Cigarroa Fores was his usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 29 points and 11 assists. Cigarroa Fores also posted eight+ assists for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Tony Clarida, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, More pushed their score all the way to 59 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Valley Christian on the road and fell 92-59. While losing is never fun, More can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 691st, while Valley Christian is ranked 270th).
DCP Alum Rock's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-4. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41.67 points. As for More, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
DCP Alum Rock was dealt a bruising 75-21 defeat at the hands of More when the teams last played back in February of 2019. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point DCP Alum Rock was down 42-9.
