Softball Recap: Canyon Crest Academy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Sweetwater

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Canyon Crest Academy walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Sweetwater Red Devils on Friday as they made off with a 12-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Ravens.

Grace Yao made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Yao was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Alexis McNamee was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Julia Piekarski was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Canyon Crest Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sweetwater only managed two hits.

Canyon Crest Academy's record is now 16-13-1. As for Sweetwater, the defeat snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 20-3-1 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Canyon Crest Academy beat the Red Devils by a score of 16-6 on Monday.
