Softball Recap: Silverado Takes a Loss

Silverado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Centennial Bulldogs, falling 17-1. If the Skyhawks were looking for revenge after losing 15-5 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Silverado saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yvonne Jimenez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Jimenez also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Silverado's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Centennial, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Silverado will welcome Palo Verde at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Silverado has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Centennial, they are taking a road trip to take on Faith Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Centennial's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Faith Lutheran's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
