Basketball Game Preview: Falls Lake Firebirds vs. Louisburg Warriors

The Falls Lake Firebirds will take on the Louisburg Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Falls Lake will be strutting in after a win while Louisburg will be coming in after a defeat.

On Monday, Falls Lake didn't have too much trouble with Clover Garden School as they won 40-22. The Firebirds haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Falls Lake relied on the efforts of Marli Seibles, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds, and Destiny Williams, who posted eight points along with ten boards and seven steals. Seibles' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jeneen Mason, who put up seven points in addition to five steals and three blocks.

Falls Lake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Louisburg lost to Warren County on the road by a 58-42 margin on Tuesday.

Louisburg now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Falls Lake, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Falls Lake took their win against Louisburg in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 53-31 score. Do the Firebirds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
