Basketball Recap: Leggett Comes Up Short

Leggett suffered their biggest loss since November 23, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by the Brookeland Wildcats and fell 84-16. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Leggett lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tamera Henderson, who posted six points and three blocks. Henderson has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bianca Perkins, who scored ten points and six rebounds.

Leggett now has a losing record at 14-15. As for Brookeland, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-4.

Leggett will face off against High Island at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Leggett is facing High Island at the right time seeing as High Island is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Brookeland, they will take on Burkeville at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Brookeland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.
