Baseball Recap: Regis Beats Mohawk for Their Fourth Straight Win

Regis had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They beat the Mohawk Mustangs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Regis got a great performance from Jake Bohnke as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Bohnke also allowed no hits, which is notable because the Rams are 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 5-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Luke Castillo was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Hayden Lulay was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Regis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive matches.

The win got Regis back to even at 7-7. As for Mohawk, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Regis beat the Mustangs by a score of 18-0 later that day.
