Basketball Game Preview: Pewitt Brahmas vs. Avery Bulldogs

The Pewitt Brahmas will face off against the Avery Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pewitt has given up an average of 63.7 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pewitt blew Detroit out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Detroit got their revenge. The Brahmas fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 61-59. The Brahmas just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Meanwhile, Avery got the win against Rivercrest on Friday by a conclusive 53-29. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bulldogs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 699th, while the Rebels are ranked 1593rd).

Avery pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points over those games. As for Pewitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Pewitt was able to grind out a solid victory over Avery in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 51-41. Do the Brahmas have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
