Softball Recap: Newton Falls Sets Scoring Season-High Against East

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newton Falls). They never let East get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory on Friday. With that win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Newton Falls got a massive performance out of Madalyn Knight, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Knight a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kirra Howard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Newton Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

With the victory, Newton Falls broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6-1. As for East, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Newton Falls will have a chance to go back-to-back against East: the pair will be back at it again later today.
