Volleyball Recap: Encina's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

While Encina's win against Chesterton Academy of Sacramento wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Saints 3-2. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Saints on Wednesday, too.

Encina got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-22, 18-25, 25-13, 28-30, 15-13.

Sarah Cowley paced Encina's offense, picking up 11 kills. Cowley got some help from Nyla Pomtong and her 27 assists. Pomtong was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 11 aces.

Encina's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Chesterton Academy of Sacramento, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Encina will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Foresthill at 6:00 p.m. As for Chesterton Academy of Sacramento, they will head out on the road to square off against Highlands at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
