Baseball Recap: Glenbrook's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Glenbrook waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Haynesville Golden Tornado by a score of 5-1. The Apaches have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Tornado, too.

Sam Ricord was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has become a key player for Glenbrook: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-7-1 otherwise. Ricord was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Easton Sanders, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Seth Mangrum was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Glenbrook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Glenbrook pushed their record up to 9-8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Haynesville, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3-1.

Coming up, Glenbrook will head out to square off against Byrd at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Byrd will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Haynesville, they will welcome North Caddo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
