Recap: Denison Yellow Jackets vs. McKinney North Bulldogs
The Denison Yellow Jackets suffered their biggest loss since November 21, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by McKinney North 53-20. Denison has struggled against McKinney North recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McKinney North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaelyn Hamilton, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Hamilton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ciara Harris, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Denison has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for McKinney North, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 23-10.
Denison will be playing at home against Lovejoy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Lovejoy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Denison in Texas (Lovejoy is ranked 165th, while Denison is ranked 537th). As for McKinney North, they will head out on the road to square off against Princeton at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Princeton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
