Softball Game Preview: Kinston Bulldogs vs. Woodland Bobcats

The Kinston Bulldogs will face off against the Woodland Bobcats at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kinston lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Brantley, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. Kinston was the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over Brantley on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for Kinston as they're now sitting on 12 straight.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Woodland had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Fayetteville an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. Give the Bobcats' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Woodland is on a roll lately: they've won 25 of their last 29 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Kinston, their victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 35-7.
