Volleyball Recap: Irondequoit Falls Short Against Ranked Penfield

Irondequoit faced Penfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Irondequoit has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Penfield, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Irondequoit is set to take on their familiar foe Gates Chili at 6:30 p.m. on October 3. Meanwhile, Penfield will face off against rival Pittsford at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
