Rye had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the St. Mary's Pirates on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Thunderbolts, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-13, 25-17.

Isabella Bond paced Rye's offense, picking up nine kills. Bond got some help from Olivia Donlon and her 12 assists. Seine Roy controlled things from the service line, finishing with nine aces.

St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Rye will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Woodland Park at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Mary's, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kent Denver at 3:00 p.m. on September 6.
