Baseball Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

Marshall easily dispatched Pewamo-Westphalia on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Redhawks fell just short of the Owosso Trojans by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Redhawks have suffered since May 11, 2024.

Marshall saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Baker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Baker has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Owosso, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marshall will face off against Coldwater at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Owosso, they will square off against Brandon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Trojans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
