Basketball Recap: Jacob Sidwell and Noah Barnes Secure Win for Parkway South

While Parkway South didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down the Riverview Gardens Rams 66-49 on Friday. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Rams are ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Parkway South was led to victory by Noah Barnes and Jacob Sidwell. Barnes dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 assists, while Sidwell almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. What's more, Sidwell also racked up four blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was Tyler Shanfeld, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Parkway South pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Riverview Gardens, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkway South will head out to take on Mehlville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Riverview Gardens, they are taking a road trip to challenge North County Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
