Senior guard led Lexington to Class 4A state title.

Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in prep basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2023-24 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.

Cam Scott of Lexington is the 2023-24 South Carolina MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 6-foot-5 senior guard earns the honor for the second consecutive season after leading the Wildcats to a 28-2 record and Class 4A state championship.

For the season, Scott averaged 22.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.5 assists per contest while shooting 48.6 percent from the field, 38.8 percent from 3-point range and 81.6 percent from the free throw line.
