Hudsonville won the last time they faced South Christian and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Eagles skirted past the Sailors 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted against the Sailors since August 18, 2018.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Hudsonville who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 21-25, 15-9.

Leah Burlison paced Hudsonville's offense, picking up nine kills. Burlison got some help from Jaclyn Keppel and her 14 assists.

The victory made it two in a row for Hudsonville and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for South Christian, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Hudsonville and East Kentwood will shake off the rust and duke it out at 8:00 a.m. on September 6. The matchup will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for South Christian, they are taking a road trip to face off against Holland Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
