Recap: Douglas Tigers vs. Reno Huskies

In what's become a running theme this season, the Douglas Tigers gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Reno 58-17 at home. Winning may never get old, but Douglas sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Douglas was led to victory by Logan Karwoski and Ella Girdner. Karwoski scored eight points along with three steals, while Girdner scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Girdner has scored all season. Ashlyn Greenfield was another key contributor, scoring four points along with four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Reno lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kindle Rowe. Despite the final result, she scored seven points along with eight rebounds. Rowe hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Reno struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Douglas racked up 15 assists.

Douglas has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Reno, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Douglas will head out on the road to take on Bishop Manogue at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Manogue is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Douglas a eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Reno will take on Carson at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Carson is ranked 51st, while Reno is ranked 41st).
