Basketball Recap: Oxford Hills' Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

Oxford Hills won the last time they faced Lewiston and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Oxford Hills Vikings came out on top against the Lewiston Blue Devils by a score of 51-41. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Blue Devils are ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oxford Hills has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Lewiston, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oxford Hills will head out to challenge South Portland at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lewiston, they will venture away from home to face off against Edward Little at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Edward Little will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Lewiston surely won't give up without a fight.
