Basketball Recap: Village Skates Past Fort Bend Christian Academy with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Village). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 77-43 win over the Fort Bend Christian Academy Eagles. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Fort Bend Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sydnee Arocha posted 21 points and four steals. Arocha continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Zoe Bell was another key player, putting up eight points.

Village now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Fort Bend Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Village will face off against St. John's at 1:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Fort Bend Christian Academy, they will take on Westbury Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
