Basketball Recap: Albany Extends Winning Streak to Six

Albany put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They pulled ahead with a 52-51 photo finish over the Benton Zephyrs. 52 seems to be a good number for the Comets as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Albany pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Benton, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Albany and Pecatonica will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Benton will take on Belmont in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
