If Covington wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Hammond, they should've done a better job of containing Joseph Carbo. The Hammond Tornadoes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-61 victory over the Covington Lions on Wednesday thanks in part to Carbo, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 19 points and eight rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2024.
Broderick Peters was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.
Hammond is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Covington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-11.
