Volleyball Game Preview: Gilbert Indians vs. Midland Valley Mustangs

The Gilbert Indians will square off against the Midland Valley Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilbert is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Gilbert came up short against South Aiken and fell 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Gilbert's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Abigail Widmann, who had eight digs and two aces, and Olivia Otero, who had ten digs and one assist.

Meanwhile, Midland Valley got the win against Airport on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Midland Valley was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-10, 25-21.

Gilbert's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Midland Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.

Gilbert took their victory against Midland Valley when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
