Football Recap: Ferris Yellowjackets vs. Madison Trojans
Ferris took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They claimed a resounding 48-21 victory over the Madison Trojans at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Yellowjackets just coasted through the last quarter.
Brandon Mcneal had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 108 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. Another receiver making a difference was Derrick King, who rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Ferris' defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Anthony Jantes and King. King didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble and made two total tackles (1.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception which he returned for a touchdown. Ferris got some further help from Mariano Pedroza: he made 12 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ferris is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Peaster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Madison, they will head out to square off against Molina at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
