Basketball Recap: Southeast Comes Up Short

Southeast lost against Heights back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The contest between the Southeast Golden Buffalo and the Heights Falcons didn't end well, with the Southeast Golden Buffalo falling 66-52. While losing is never fun, the Golden Buffalo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Falcons are ranked 16th).

Despite the loss, Southeast still got an impressive performance from Parker Hardgrave, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards. Hardgrave has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. Collin Laws was another key player, putting up eight points.

Chase Robinson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 19 points and 12 boards for Heights. The dominant performance also gave Robinson a new career-high in assists (seven). Another player making a difference was K'Mari Holt, who posted 12 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Southeast and nudges their season record down to 7-9. As for Heights, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Southeast didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 92-40 victory against North on the 14th. As for Heights, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-47 win against East on the 14th.
