Basketball Recap: Westminster Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Elyas Romero and Michael Davidson

Westminster lost against Boulder back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Westminster Wolves fell 67-54 to the Boulder Panthers.

Westminster's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Michael Davidson, who went 5-for-9 en route to 17 points and five steals, and Elyas Romero, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 18 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Westminster is 2-1 when Romero posts five or more steals, but 8-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dennis Ross, who posted two points and three steals.

Cole Morrow continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Boulder, going 11-for-26 on his way to 32 points. Morrow's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Manny Flores, who went 6-for-12 en route to 12 points and five rebounds.

Westminster's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Boulder, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

Looking ahead, Westminster will host Mountain Range at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Mountain Range's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests. As for Boulder, they will venture away from home to square off against Prairie View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Prairie View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.
