Recap: Mill Springs Academy vs. Cottage Cougars
Mill Springs Academy lost against the Cottage Cougars back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Mill Springs Academy was the victim of a tough 44-24 defeat at the hands of Cottage. Mill Springs Academy has not had much luck with Cottage recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Mill Springs Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Daryn Asrael, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Asrael has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Jones, who scored eight points.
Alyssa Briggs was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points for Cottage.
Mill Springs Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Cottage, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mill Springs Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Tapestry Charter at 4:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Tapestry Charter comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Cottage won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Varsity Opponent at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th.
