Volleyball Recap: New Covenant Makes It Six in a Row at Home

New Covenant had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Richmond Christian on Friday. The Gryphons were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Warriors.

New Covenant not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Richmond Christian between 13 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-13, 25-15.

Leading New Covenant to victory were Embry Carlton and Lydia Williams. Carlton had 15 digs and four aces, while Williams had seven aces and three digs. That's the most aces Carlton has posted since back in October of 2024.

New Covenant's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. As for Richmond Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Covenant will face off against Jefferson Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Richmond Christian, they will take on Veritas School at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
