Potomac Falls picks up sixth straight win at home

Recap: Potomac Falls Panthers vs. Lightridge Bolts

The Potomac Falls Panthers put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 53-47 W over Lightridge. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Potomac Falls has scored all season.

Johnny Opiola was his usual excellent self, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and six assists. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Margenau, who scored 13 points along with two steals.

Potomac Falls' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-0. As for Lightridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Potomac Falls won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Briar Woods at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd. Briar Woods will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while Potomac Falls is ranked 20th). Lightridge will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Stone Bridge at 7:15 p.m. on January 25th.
