Basketball Game Preview: Del Sol Dragons vs. Chaparral Cowboys

Del Sol is 2-8 against Chaparral since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Del Sol Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Chaparral Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. Del Sol has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Del Sol turned things around against Pahrump Valley on Wednesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 58-29 win over the Trojans. The contest marked the Dragons' most dominant victory of the season.

It was another big night for Jaeden Alexander, who went 11 for 20 en route to 25 points along with seven boards and five steals. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kelly Dawson, who posted 12 points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Meanwhile, Chaparral came up short against Shadow Ridge on Tuesday and fell 60-49. The loss continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.

Del Sol's win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-14. As for Chaparral, they now have a losing record at 11-12.

Del Sol might still be hurting after the 86-64 defeat they got from Chaparral in their previous meeting on January 9th. Can Del Sol avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
