Softball Recap: Maynard Tigers vs. West Boylston Lions
Maynard lost against West Boylston back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Maynard Tigers took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Boylston Lions.
Jillian Macfarlane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Ryleigh Raschi was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia O?Brien, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Maynard's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for West Boylston, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
