Boonville and Heritage Hills are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Pioneers will take on the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Boonville has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while Heritage Hills will come in with three straight victories.

Boonville saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of Vincennes Lincoln by a score of 8-7.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Heritage Hills ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Evansville Memorial, sneaking past 9-8.

Bronson Pund made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Pund was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Pund wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Micah Toler, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Toler has posted since back in April. Colten Hopf was another, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI.

Boonville's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Heritage Hills, their record is now 20-7.

Boonville suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Heritage Hills in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Pioneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
