Newport Harbor extended their winning streak to ten on Saturday, bumping them up to 10-0. They skirted past the Santa Margarita Eagles 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sailors have posted since August 23, 2024.

Newport Harbor found their leader in sophomore Scarlett Guyser, who rushed for 64 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also threw for 102 yards and one touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Santa Margarita fell to 12-1. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite the loss, Santa Margarita still got an impressive performance from Madi Lam, who threw for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 72.4% of her passes.

Newport Harbor didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 33-0 win against Fairmont Prep on the 6th. As for Santa Margarita, they have also already played their next matchup, a 33-7 victory against Redlands East Valley on the 6th.
