            Softball Recap: Waynedale Golden Bears vs. Fairless Falcons        
        
		
        
        
            Waynedale posted their closest  win since April 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past the Fairless Falcons  7-6. For the Golden Bears, this counts as revenge for the   7-2 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in March of 2017.
 Brooke Compston was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out seven batters over  seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and two unearned) runs off   ten  hits. Compston was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.

 In other batting news,  Kendall Rising was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with four  RBI and one  double. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Madi Miller, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 Waynedale  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairless struck out seven times.
The  victory  got Waynedale back to even at 1-1. As for Fairless, their defeat was  their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 0-3.
 Waynedale wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  13-6  win against Loudonville on the 26th. As for Fairless, they have also  already played their next match,  a  7-6  loss against Carrollton on the 26th.
