Volleyball Game Preview: St. Genevieve Valiants vs. St. Monica Mariners

The St. Genevieve Valiants will head out to challenge the St. Monica Mariners at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, St. Genevieve came up short against Salesian and fell 3-1. The Valiants haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

St. Genevieve started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-11.

Meanwhile, St. Monica had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Owls.

St. Monica walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-18, 25-11, 25-18.

St. Genevieve's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for St. Monica, they pushed their record up to 18-13-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

St. Genevieve couldn't quite get it done against St. Monica when the teams last played on Saturday as they fell 2-0. Can the Valiants avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
