Basketball Game Preview: Hannah-Pamplico Raiders vs. Latta Vikings

Hannah-Pamplico hasn't had much luck against Latta recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hannah-Pamplico Raiders will venture away from home to take on the Latta Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Hannah-Pamplico is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season last Tuesday. They took a 34-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aynor.

Meanwhile, Latta came up short against Carvers Bay on Tuesday and fell 46-34. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hannah-Pamplico will have to keep a close watch on Layla Hyatt and Azarriona Mcrae, a pair of players who had a big impact on Latta's prior game. Hyatt posted nine points and eight rebounds, while Mcrae put up no points along with ten rebounds and four steals. Hyatt is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.

Even though they lost, Latta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 20 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Hannah-Pamplico's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Latta, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Hannah-Pamplico might still be hurting after the 65-40 defeat they got from Latta in their previous meeting back in February. Can Hannah-Pamplico avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
