Softball Preview: Stringer Red Devils vs. Ethel Tigers
The Stringer Red Devils will head out on the road to take on the Ethel Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Stringer is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Sacred Heart 15-1. Winning may never get old, but Stringer sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Madilyn Graham made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Graham has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive pitching appearances. Graham was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles.
In other batting news, Presley Arender was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with a home run, three runs, and four RBI. Rylei Pickerell was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Ethel made sure to put some runs up on the board against Enterprise last Saturday. Ethel was the clear victor by a 12-3 margin over Enterprise. Winning may never get old, but Ethel sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Stringer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6-1 record this season. As for Ethel, their win bumped their record up to 17-13.
